~ Blogging Big Brother's Birthday - Happy Birthday Brent ! ! ~
Happy 64th Brent!!!!
I could try to be clever and come up with 64 reasons that he's an awesome brother, but that would be kind of cheesy and we'd both be embarrassed. Let's just say that I'm thankful to have him in my life. We don't live very close but it's awesome that we are only a phone call or an email away.
I'm trying not to copy last year's blog. This is the picture I've had in my scrapbook since as long as I can remember (Hence the condition of the pic) Of course there are many more recent ones.

I "borrowed" this one from Katie's page a few months ago. I love the color coordination and of course the year makes it a fun page to look at.

Oh and here's another "borrowed" picture!
LOL.... OK perhaps stolen, But it's just a great copy.

~ Remembering Our Veterans ~
I've read a lot of things in the paper the last few days about how painful this weekend is for many. I can't imagine the pain and sorrow of losing a son or daughter in the armed forces. To those who have sacrificed and to those who serve I am grateful.
Our neighbor installed a full sized flag pole in his yard this past week. His daughter has joined the Air Guard. I feel anxious yet proud for them. (But very anxious)
I remember going to the cemeteries with my Mom and Dad as a kid and watching the Memorial Day services with the 21 gun salute. This was a beautiful thing. The person that played taps played from the hillside behind the cemetery. It had such an eerie echo. I remember feeling a shiver down my back at the beauty.
Today I will post a picture of my favorite veteran. Dad served in WWII. He really didn't talk about it much until his later years. I learned that those who didn't talk about it saw MUCH!!
I've written about Dad before.... Rather than repeating those words I will just say that on this Memorial Day, Merlin Hyrum Jones was a man of honor. He was loved and respected by many, especially me. In honor of those who serve I give thanks.

~ Just A Walk A Day ~
Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 every morning... a walk a day keeps the blues away and the dogs at bay. The problem with doing something in repetition is that sometimes you forget to look around. I went out one afternoon without the dogs and just my camera. It was time to "see" with different eyes.
Oh yes, that's what it looks like.
Ahhh I love spring.... These were taken early in May.

And of Course We LOVED the Georgia Aquarium!!!!
And then there was Helen, Georgia. This is a Jones tradition in Georgia. We were privileged to be there this year for Grand-baby Bryce's first trip to the mountain on 4/1. In tradition we drink a toast to Jeff. His favorite was Jack and Coke. (Those not participating may donate their drink to the earth for Jeffrey) It was a beautiful day. It was the first time that Steph and I had experienced true spring weather, as well as Steph's first trip to the cemetery here. The sun was intense and warm, as were our hearts for being there. I took home a sunburn on my feet but it was good.

Love You Joneses!!! Forever Family!!!
~Jody Mushala~
We had a "Celebration of Life" for Jody on January 16th, 2010. My heart hurts. Jody passed away on November 13th, 2009. (I was in Pocatello for my Aunt Leta's funeral!) She was ONE DAY away from her 52nd birthday! We are only two weeks apart!!! (Yuppers..... just gave away my age..)
We released balloons bearing our last farewell messages at 5:30 in synchronicity with her family on the east coast. Jody passed away from Cirrhosis of the Liver. I am thankful that I was able to see her a few weeks before she passed.

This is how I'll always remember Jody. What a beautiful smile and a fun spirit!! And Gweedo Wood in the background with Mr. T. Tyler :)
Did I mention her fun spirit? Yes this was my Mr. G. swatting her behind!!!

We were at this party with Jody back in the good old 80's. It was fun back then!!!

~ Fiesta Fever ~
Oh My!! Here it is MAY and I never posted those Fiesta Bowl pictures!!! Facebook is robbing my Blog!! I can NOT move forward until I try to catch up just a little bit....
As Promised Way Back Then:
The Opening Ceremonies were breathtaking!!! The speck that you see flying over the flag was an Eagle that had been trained to fly across the field. This with the Star Spangled Banner playing was absolutely beautiful!!!
We had such a great time attending this event with our oldest and dearest friends. Thank you Mike and Gloria for asking us to join you in such a FUN weekend!!!

~ A New Decade ~
I've been looking back through this blog and wondering where did all of this come from? The "First" blog was written in June of 2006. It just kind of plugs right on along!! How long will I keep doing this and why? I've never been good about keeping a journal. I've had one for awhile but I haven't entered anything in the longest time. I guess this is it. So here I am, still "Just Trudy".
There is always great anticipation with what a new year might bring. There are those usual resolutions that can be made. Then there's the resolving part!! Will I make it happen this year? How will I make it "STICK" this time? Yes, I want to stay healthy!! Yes, I want to lose weight! Yes, I want to get organized! But will I? Can I? Shall I? This HAS to be the year!! It's just NOT going to get any easier!
So with no apologies, I shall begin to begin.
We had a fun first week of the year so far!!! We went to the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona and watched our Boise State Broncos BEAT Texas Christian Horned Frogs!!! AWESOME!!! When we exchange more pictures with our friends I will post a new blog to commemorate!!!! :)
More to Come......
